Flying to Dubai Tomorrow? 10 Final Checks Travellers Often Miss

Your bags are packed, your boarding pass is downloaded — and the trip itself is about to be the easy part. The stressful part is the night before, when your brain starts inventing problems at 1 a.m. Run through this checklist tonight and you'll board calm tomorrow.

1. Check your passport's expiry date

The UAE requires your passport to be valid for at least six months beyond your travel dates. This is the number-one reason travellers get turned away at check-in — not expired passports, but passports with three or four months left. Look at the date tonight, not at the airport.

2. Confirm your visa is actually issued

A visa "in process" is not a visa. Make sure yours is issued and approved before you leave home. If you applied through us, ask for confirmation on WhatsApp — we'd rather double-check at midnight than hear about a problem at the gate.

3. Make sure the visa matches the traveller

The name, passport number, and nationality on your visa must match your passport exactly. A middle-name typo or a transposed digit can cause real trouble at immigration. Read every line once tonight.

4. Check the visa type against your trip

Flying in for a week and home again? A 30-day single-entry tourist visa is the right tool. Leaving the UAE mid-trip and coming back? You need multiple entry. A layover of one to four days? That's transit-visa territory. The wrong visa type is an expensive mistake to discover at the border.

5. Print or save everything offline

Keep a PDF or screenshot of your visa, passport photo page, flight booking, and hotel reservation on your phone — somewhere you can open without internet. Airport wifi is fickle and roaming isn't guaranteed.

6. Carry proof of onward travel and stay

Immigration may ask where you're staying and when you leave. Have your hotel booking and return ticket easy to reach. Screenshots in a phone album work fine.

7. Sort money and connectivity

Check your bank cards work internationally, and know how you'll get online on arrival — an eSIM or a local SIM at the airport. You'll want WhatsApp working from minute one.

8. Keep your documents' originals where you can find them

Original passport in your hand-luggage, always — never in checked bags. Copies are useful backups; they are not substitutes.

9. Recheck your airline's latest rules

Airlines verify your documents at check-in and they follow their own briefings, so a quick look at your airline's travel-requirements page tonight is worth five minutes. If anything looks different from what your visa says, message us before you sleep.

10. Save a human contact

Save our WhatsApp number — +971 56 655 6645 — in your phone before you fly. If anything goes sideways at the airport, you want a person who can respond, not a search engine.

That's it. Ten checks, one calm evening, and tomorrow is just the flight.

If something looks wrong tonight

Don't panic — and don't ignore it either. Most pre-flight problems have fixes if you catch them the night before: a name typo can be corrected, a missing hotel booking can be made, a visa question can be answered. What can't be fixed is discovered at the check-in counter with an hour to go. If anything on this list made you uneasy, message us on WhatsApp now rather than hoping it resolves itself. We'd genuinely rather hear from you at 11 p.m. than hear about a missed flight at 7 a.m.

The morning-of routine

Keep it boring: passport, visa copy, phone charger, and a screenshot folder you can open offline. Arrive at the airport with the usual international buffer — three hours is comfortable for most routes. Check in online if your airline offers it; it gives you one more quiet moment to verify that your documents were accepted. Then put the phone down, find your gate, and enjoy the part you've been planning for.
