Nepal PCC for Dubai Visa 2026: Attestation Guide

Some UAE visa application channels ask Nepali applicants for a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) with attestation. If yours does, here is the exact route: get the report first, check every personal detail, complete the consular attestation, and only then upload it with your visa documents.

Scope note: this guide describes the PCC process for applicants whose channel requests it. It is not a claim that every UAE tourist-visa channel asks every Nepali traveller for a PCC — checklists differ, so confirm what your channel requires before spending time on it.

What is a Nepal Police Clearance Certificate?

A PCC is the document commonly called a police clearance; Nepal Police calls it a Police Clearance Report in its online system. It records the result of the police character check against the identity details you supply.

For visa use, the PCC must be consistent with the passport on your UAE application. A spelling difference, wrong passport number, or wrong date of birth should be corrected before attestation — attestation confirms the document, it does not repair the data. And a PCC supports the document review only; it does not select your visa duration or guarantee approval. Compare your options in our visa types guide first.

Nepal PCC attestation, step by step

Step 1 — Apply through Nepal Police OPCR. Use the official Online Police Clearance Registration system (opcr.nepalpolice.gov.np) and complete the identity, passport, and travel-history fields. Upload readable files and submit. Nepal Police currently states a report is normally available within two to three days, excluding public holidays, when no further identity review is needed.

Step 2 — Check the report before attestation. Compare the name, date of birth, passport number, citizenship details, and address against your UAE application documents. If anything is wrong, follow Nepal Police's correction instructions first. The report downloads through OPCR — save the original file and keep a clear colour version.

Step 3 — Complete Nepal consular attestation online. The MOFA attestation stage runs through Nepal's Department of Consular Services portal (att.nepalconsular.gov.np). Enter the PCC dispatch number and date of birth, review the retrieved details, provide the requested contact information, and complete the payment step. Save the reference number and EBP number — the portal states the attested PCC can normally be downloaded after one working day using the reference and dispatch numbers.

Step 4 — Confirm whether UAE-side attestation is required. UAE Embassy attestation is a separate legalization stage. Complete it only when the receiving authority or application team confirms it is needed for your case. Procedures and charges change — check the official UAE mission page before sending documents or paying a provider.

Step 5 — Upload the correct version. Use the final requested version, not the unattested draft. Stamps, dispatch number, personal details, and all page edges must be visible. Keep the original downloads so a clearer copy can be supplied if requested.

How long does the PCC process take?

Allow time for both issuance and attestation: Nepal Police usually 2–3 days (excluding public holidays, when no further review is needed); the Nepal consular step normally 1 working day after a correct, paid application; UAE-side legalization only if required — confirm the channel and timing with the official attestation service. Name matches, holidays, payment-verification issues, or extra legalization requests can extend all of these.

Common PCC problems that delay applications

Attesting a report with incorrect details instead of fixing it first. Uploading the first download when an attested version was requested. Losing the reference number needed to retrieve the attested file. Treating the consular application as submitted before payment is verified. Submitting a cropped or over-compressed copy with blurred stamps. And assuming a complete PCC guarantees approval — it completes one document requirement; the immigration decision stays with the UAE authorities.
